The Somerville Fermentation Festival is an annual celebration of the world of fermented foods and the layers of community that create them. Free & open to the public, this event features a diverse vendor marketplace, a Speaker Series, hands-on community activities, and more.
What you’ll find at the festival:
A diverse marketplace of fermented food vendors from across New England sampling & selling their products
A ticketed series of speakers, panel discussions, and guided tastings
A “Kraut Mob” - a free, guided make-your-own sauerkraut table
A culture & book swap - bring a SCOBY, starter culture, or fermentation-themed book to share and take a different one home!
A Fermentation Help Desk - get your burning questions answered by an experienced fermenter!
A microscope table - see the bacteria and yeasts that ferment our favorite foods!
A crafting table for kids & adults
Live music & more!
As always, the main event is free & open to all!

Ticketed Early Access Hour: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM*
*Note: We advise ticket holders to arrive 15 minutes early in order to enjoy the entire 60-minute Early Access Hour inside of our vendor hall.
Location: The Center for the Arts at the Armory: 191 Highland Ave, Somerville MA, 02143
Parking: Off-street parking is available behind the building, with overflow parking at 75 Belmont Street. Ample street parking is available without restriction (Sundays only).
