The Somerville Fermentation Festival is an annual celebration of the world of fermented foods and the layers of community that create them. Free & open to the public, this event features a diverse vendor marketplace, a Speaker Series, hands-on community activities, and more.
New in 2026
Beat the lines by buying tickets to our Early Access Preview Hour!
From 10:00 to 11:00AM, Preview Hour ticket holders can gain first access to limited-availability products, converse with vendors, and explore the festival before the crowds arrive. Doors open to the public at 11:00AM.
Ticket holders will receive a branded tote bag with raffle ticket and sticker, and get 10% off all branded festival merchandise.
Early Bird pricing is available through July 16.
What to Expect at the Festival
A diverse marketplace of fermented food vendors from across New England sampling & selling their products
A series of speakers and panel discussions on various aspects of fermented food
A “Kraut Mob” - a free, guided make-your-own sauerkraut table
A culture swap - bring a SCOBY or starter culture to share and take a different one home!
Local beer, wine, & cider available for purchase from the Armory bar
Live music & more!
As always, the main event is free & open to all!

*Note: We advise ticket holders to arrive 15 minutes early in order to enjoy the entire 60-minute Preview Hour inside of our vendor hall.

Parking: Off-street parking is available behind the building, with overflow parking at 75 Belmont Street. Ample street parking is available without restriction (Sundays only).
